TOOWONG CEMETERY, BRISBANE, QLD ..NO HEADSTONES

Some of the  following graves were demolished in 1974 -1979 at Toowong Cemetery, so mostly there are no photos, unless in private collections or having been taken before being demolished. The transcriptions are posted wherever available.

You will also find here unmarked graves, also graves that have no longer have headstones, due to deterioration because of age, or destruction due to vandalism.

On the left is the Portion, Section then Grave number.  Second column are the people buried there then the Inscription.

4-9-25 4-9-25/26 4-9-26	Goddard, Harry Goddard, Margaret Goddard, Margaret Hartford Johnson, Margaret Johnson, Joseph Thompson, Fanny	In memory of Harry Goddard born at Hammersmith Middlesex, England 12th February 1864 died at Brisbane 20th February 1887. Safe in the arms of Jesus also Margaret wife of the above born Queensland – County Ireland 16th Oct 1860 died at Brisbane 15th July 1952. Always Remembered In Memory of Joseph Johnson born at Staffordshire England, 19th March 1819 died at Brisbane 21st March 1896 Lost awhile our Treasured love gained forever safe above. Also Margaret, wife of the above born at Queens – County Ireland, 17th March 1829.   Died at Brisbane 6th July 1896.  He first departed, she har did try to live Without him, like it not, and died. Also Fanny niece of the above died 31st January 1945  Aged 61 years.
